Scott’s Branch Middle High School had a fantastic Open House and Back to School Bash! It was great seeing returning students and welcoming new families. We’re excited to learn and grow together this year. Special thanks to the SBMHS JROTC for hosting, to our community partners for donating supplies and volunteering, to the barbers who provided free haircuts to our students and to the SBMHS cheerleaders for their spirited help at the canteen.

Welcome Eagles! We look forward to seeing you on Monday. Parents, please make sure your student is registered before the first day of school. Students who are not fully registered will not be permitted to attend school until the registration process is complete. Students who are not registered should not report to a bus stop or ride a CCSD school bus. If an unregistered student arrives at school, a parent or guardian will be contacted to pick them up. Let's make sure all of our students are ready on day one.

📚 Attendance Matters… Every Scholar, Every Day! 🍎
At Clarendon County School District, we know that showing up is the first step toward success. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity for our scholars to learn, grow, and achieve.
Parents and guardians, please take a moment to review our 2026-2027 Attendance Guidelines to better understand excused and unexcused absences, attendance requirements, parent note limits, and how attendance impacts student success.
✅ Remember:
🍎 Students are required to attend at least 170 of the 180 school days.
📝 Parent notes must be submitted within 3 days of a student’s return to school.
📅 Family vacations and appointments should be scheduled during school breaks whenever possible.
🎓 Good attendance leads to stronger academic performance, meaningful relationships, and greater opportunities for success.
Together, let’s make attendance a priority and ensure Every Scholar. Every Day.

At the “Boots on the Ground” professional development led by Mrs. Wells and Dr. Middleton, teachers first ranked survival supplies individually. Next, small teams compared selections, created a consensus list, and presented their reasoning. We closed by linking the exercise to teamwork and decision-making in our classrooms.
Mrs. Wells' shared her principal's charge with staff, "As we begin this year, let us remember that the success of Scott's Branch Middle High School is not dependent on any one individual. It is the result of a collective commitment to excellence, accountability, collaboration, and service. Together, we will build a culture where every adult feels valued, every student feels supported, and every success is celebrated."
