Today is National School Principal's Day! We want to take a moment to give a shout out to Tiffani Burgess for being patient, caring, creative, engaging, dedicated, inspiring, helpful, motivating and knowledgeable. We appreciate and thank you for all your hard work!

Dr. Brooker, Mr. Dorch, Ms. Britt & Ms. Thompson are working with our students in an afterschool program to prepare them for SC Ready by equipping them with skills that will give them the final push to prepare for "Countdown to SC Ready." The SC State Math test is Monday May 6th.

🎉We celebrated our principal, Ms. Burgess, today for National School Principal's Day. Ms. Burgess does a lot for us at MPS. We hope Ms. Burgess had a wonderful School Principal's Day!

Ms. Burgess and Ms. Stukes awarded Chick-fil-A lunches to 28 of our 3rd graders for achieving over 211 points on their MAP Math Tests. Way to go Winners!!

Students, parents/families, and teachers enjoyed "Bingo & Bites" on Wednesday, April 24th. We played multiplication bingo and reviewed ELA skills using Study Island in preparation for our upcoming SC Ready Testing. Thank you to all the parents and families who joined us!

Thank you to our parents and guardians who came to play Bingo & Bites today. Parents and guardians played bingo with multiplications vs. against the children, and the winners went "shopping" in the prize area. Twelve of our students won tickets. 🎟

Today is Administrative Assistant Appreciation Day. We Appreciate Mrs. Diane Haynes who goes above and beyond to keep our office running smoothly: Thank you for your dedication, expertise, and willingness to help whenever needed. You are a true asset to our team, and we are grateful for all that you do. The entire MPS Staff planned this surprise "Thank you" for Mrs. Haynes with flowers, gift cerificates and a charcuterie board.

Mrs. Anne brought her STEM class out to the garden to teach them how to determine whether the plant is a vegetable or a weed, then taught them how to weed their garden.

Our students and staff are raising money on Fun Fridays so they can all visit Wonderworks in Myrtle Beach, an impressive upside-down building with dozens of exhibits, after the school year ends.

Congratulations to our March teacher feature of the month, Jonathan Lace and our staff feature of the month Stacie Salters. We appreciate your dedication to MPS! Special thanks to our sponsors Santee Pitt and Burger Chick for our winners' gifts.

On this beautiful morning, Mrs. Holcombe's & Mr. Lace's classes came out to the garden and Dr. Brooker taught them how to plant eggplant, cherry tomatoes, red peppers and flowers to attract the bees for pollination.

With the first day of Spring arriving, Dr. Brooker's "recess" garden class is teaching our students how to garden: talk to their plants and to provide them with light, water, and mineral nutrition, with more to learn.

Forty-six of our 3rd graders earned 206+ points in the Winter MAP tests, so Ms. Burgess awarded them with a free McDonald's meal today. They were escorted by Deputy Johnson on their walk to lunch. Congratulations to our hard working students!!
