🌎📚 Hispanic Heritage Month is OFFICIALLY underway at SBMHS!
Ms. Russell’s high school Spanish classes kicked off the celebration today with an exciting Passport to Hispanic Heritage activity! ✈️🌎
Students received their very own “passport,” formed groups, and began exploring the rich cultures of Hispanic countries. Their mission? To create a virtual field trip showcasing major landmarks, local music, traditional clothing, and regional foods from their chosen country. 🗺️🎶👗🍴
Our Spanish 1 groups selected:

- Argentina
- Mexico
- Peru
- Costa Rica
Today was just the beginning! We’re excited to see where our Eagles’ research and creativity take them as they learn, explore, and celebrate the diverse cultures and contributions of the Hispanic world. 🦅❤️📖

Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meetings with our guidance counselor, Mrs. Fanning, will begin on Thursday, September 17th.
Parents who would like to schedule a specific date and time for their senior’s IGP meeting are encouraged to contact Mrs. Fanning at 803-574-2100.

📐 Mr. Twumasi’s students tackled the slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines during geometry class.
📚 Ms. Reid’s English 3 students compared two poems and identified literary elements in each.
❤️ Coach Thomas’ civics students took time to remember and honor the lives and sacrifices connected to 9/11 by viewing The Man in the Red Bandana SC Feature and reflecting on its message through narrative writing.

We are proud to shine the spotlight on Joquell "JoJo" Jackson, a distinguished alumnus of Scott's Branch Middle High School! JoJo has recently completed his National Guard training, showcasing remarkable dedication and commitment to serving our country.
During his time at SBMHS, he excelled as a student-athlete and successfully completed the Automotive Technology CTE pathway at F. E. DuBose Career Center, where he gained valuable workforce experience and earned national certifications.
