Steady Progress and Future Focus: 2025 SC State Report Card Data for Clarendon County Schools

CCSD 2025 Report Card Overview

Clarendon County, SC — The 2025 South Carolina School Report Cards reflect the dedication, teamwork, and progress across all schools in the district, with every campus rated as Average or higher. While celebrating these achievements, district leaders remain committed to initiatives that inspire students to reach their full potential and succeed long-term.

High School and Middle School Highlights

East Clarendon High School earned a Good rating with a 66, just one point shy of Excellent, excelling in Graduation Rate and College and Career Readiness. Scott’s Branch High School also received a Good rating with a 62, demonstrating similar strengths. Manning High School earned an Average rating with a 58, showing growth in graduation and college readiness.

Middle schools made notable gains. East Clarendon Middle earned a Good rating, reflecting consistent achievement and growth. Scott’s Branch Middle and Manning Junior High received Near-Good ratings, with Scott’s Branch showing strong progress in math.

“Our schools demonstrate resilience and growth,” said Dr. Tyneshia Eaddy, Director of Secondary Education. “While proud of our achievements, we're committed to strengthening instruction, using data to improve, and providing enriching opportunities for every student.”

Elementary School Successes

“Superintendent Weaver’s goal for South Carolina is that all students perform at or above grade level by 2030,” stated Dr. Erica Murdaugh, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education. “To support this, our schools are focused on daily on-grade-level learning, targeted Tier II and III support, and enrichment to maximize student potential.”

Walker Gamble Elementary surpasses statewide expectations with 69.3% in ELA, 64.9% in Math, and 58% in Science. Manning Elementary has improved ELA scores from 42.2% to 48.1% and Math from 30.8% to 41.8%. Dr. Rose H. Wilder Elementary outperforms in Math at 50.5%, with gains in ELA from 46.2% to 53.3%, and Math from 48.1% to 50.5%. All elementary schools rated as Average on the 2024-2025 report are just points shy of Good, indicating steady progress and strong potential.

While these trends are positive, the district recognizes the need for focused efforts to improve achievement. Starting in 2026, only English Language Arts (ELA) growth will count toward the Student Progress indicator, emphasizing the importance of literacy. This year’s scores appear lower because the growth metric was weighted solely on math scores due to new standards for 2025-2026. However, ELA remains a key strength, and our students' dedication continues to drive success.

"Our district continues to make meaningful progress," said Superintendent Dr. Shawn Johnson. "The dedication of our teachers and students is evident in our achievements.  This is proven in our graduation rate and career readiness, amongst other metrics, which continue to exceed the state percentages. We remain committed to providing high-quality instruction that supports all learners and drives continued growth."

District leaders will leverage this data to refine professional development, improve instructional strategies, and implement targeted interventions focused on closing achievement gaps and fostering ongoing improvement.
