Clarendon County School District Prepares Christmas Care Packages for Students
CCSD Supports McKinney-Vento Families During the Holiday Season
Clarendon County, SC – The Office of Federal Programs is preparing to distribute Christmas Care Packages for 85 students identified under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. These packages aim to support students experiencing homelessness or unstable housing, ensuring they have access to essential resources during the holiday break when school meals are not available.
Each care package contains a selection of non-perishable food items, snacks, and hygiene essentials, providing crucial support during this time. This initiative serves not only as a practical resource but also as a heartfelt reminder that our school community cares for every student and that they are not forgotten during the holidays.
Dr. Dean Bryant, Director of Federal Programs, shared his thoughts on the initiative: “The holidays can present added challenges for families. We hope to make it a little easier by providing Holiday Care Packages to support our families while students are away from school.”
We would like to extend a special thanks to our community partners whose generous contributions have made this initiative possible:
Lake Marion Baptist Church, Summerton, SC
Emmanuel Baptist Church, Manning, SC
Ebenezer Baptist Church, Manning, SC
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Manning, SC
Helen Robinson

Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students and their families during this holiday season.
