Celebrating Excellence: Clarendon County School District Dominates Regional Awards
Clarendon County, SC – The Clarendon County School District is proud to announce a near clean sweep of regional awards, highlighting the exceptional talent and dedication of our students and staff. This remarkable achievement reflects our commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering an environment that encourages excellence.
Esteemed recognitions include Santee Lynches Work Based Learning Student of the Year awarded to Ethan Preast, Santee Lynches Global Career Development Facilitator of the Year awarded to Alicia McFadden, and Santee Lynches Guidance Counselor of the Year and 2026 SC Guidance Counselor of the Year awarded to Elizabeth Briley. These awards represent a significant milestone as the district nearly captured all accolades offered by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).
Dr. Shawn Johnson, Superintendent of Clarendon County School District, expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the district. “I am immensely proud of our students and staff for their dedication and hard work, which have led to this remarkable recognition. Achievements like those of Ethan Preast, Alicia McFadden, and Elizabeth Briley exemplify the commitment to excellence that defines the Clarendon County School District. Together, we are shaping a future where our students thrive, empowered by the guidance and opportunities we provide," stated Dr. Johnson.
Shameki Ketter, SCDE Regional Career Specialist, commented on the historic achievements of the district. “Clarendon County School District has made history by almost taking all of the awards in the region and having a state award. I look forward to great things from this district and leading the state in student and staff achievements in the future.”
