One of the highlights of the day was the announcement of our 2026-2027 District Teacher of the Year, Mr. Quinten Kelly, a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Manning Junior High School. Our keynote speaker, Mr. Brandon Montgomery, challenged us to think differently, lead boldly, and stay focused on what matters most. His words, “Where your focus goes, your energy flows,” set the tone for the year ahead. He reminded us to defy the odds, set the standard, and stand up, because our students are watching. They see our attitudes, hear our words, and feel our energy every single day. We have the opportunity to inspire them simply by showing up as our very best selves. 📚 Attendance Matters… Every Scholar, Every Day! 🍎 At Clarendon County School District, we know that showing up is the first step toward success. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity for our scholars to learn, grow, and achieve. Parents and guardians, please take a moment to review our 2026-2027 Attendance Guidelines to better understand excused and unexcused absences, attendance requirements, parent note limits, and how attendance impacts student success. ✅ Remember: 🍎 Students are required to attend at least 170 of the 180 school days. 📝 Parent notes must be submitted within 3 days of a student’s return to school. 📅 Family vacations and appointments should be scheduled during school breaks whenever possible. 🎓 Good attendance leads to stronger academic performance, meaningful relationships, and greater opportunities for success. The first day of school is almost here! Make sure your student is registered before the first day of school so they are ready to start the year with success.

📍 Registration is continuing daily at all CCSD schools from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

❗ Students who are not fully registered will not be permitted to attend school until the registration process is complete.❗

🚌 Transportation Reminder: Students who are not registered should not report to a bus stop or ride a CCSD school bus. If an unregistered student arrives at school, a parent or guardian will be contacted to pick them up.

If you still need to register your child, don't wait! Visit your child's school to complete the registration process, today!

Mrs. Godwin is a seasoned educational leader with 24 years of experience driving academic and operational excellence. She has served in high-impact roles including Special Education Coordinator, School Testing Coordinator and Instructional Coach. As a Leader in Me school-based trainer, Mrs. Godwin and her Lighthouse team earned Lighthouse status in Williamsburg County. A former Literacy Coach, she excels at mentoring educators and leading strategic initiatives. Her broad expertise in both general and special education underscores her commitment to inclusive, high-performing learning environments and to empowering the next generation of school and community leaders.

Big cheers for our Nutrition Team! 🎉🍎🥪

At the July CCSD Board of Trustees meeting we gave a standing ovation to our Director of Nutrition and the whole crew for an unforgettable summer of service. Last June we served 2,993 breakfasts and 4,234 lunches. This June they turned up the heat and served 24,212 breakfasts and 25,115 lunches.

Plus more than 5,000 seven day meal kits went out to families so students stayed fueled all summer long. Thank you to our Nutrition heroes for feeding minds and hearts and making summer a little brighter for our community. 👏🌞💛
