Safety First: Clear Bag Policy Reminder
As we begin a new school year and another exciting sports season, Clarendon County School District wants to remind all students, parents, guardians, and visitors about our Clear Bag Policy.
Safety remains our top priority. To help maintain a safe and secure environment at all district events, all guests will enter through a metal detector. Please be prepared for possible delays at entry points as security screenings are completed.
Before attending your next athletic event or school activity, please take a moment to review the image outlining approved and prohibited bags.
Visitors arriving with bags or items that do not meet district guidelines will be asked to return those items to their vehicles before entering.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to keep our schools and events safe and secure.

📚 ATTENDANCE MATTERS IN CCSD! ⏰
Every day counts, and every minute of instruction matters!
Getting students to school every day and on time is essential to academic success. When students arrive late, they lose valuable seat time, instructional time, and opportunities to learn and engage with their teachers and classmates.
Don’t Be Tardy!
Be present. Be on time. Be ready to learn.
Parents and guardians, we need your partnership in establishing strong attendance habits. Together, we can ensure our students receive every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

📢 Reminder for Our 4K & 5K Families
As we prepare to welcome our youngest learners, this is a reminder that all 4K and 5K students will begin the school year on a staggered start schedule during the week of August 3, 2026.
The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) approved a waiver allowing school districts to implement a staggered start for eligible 4K and 5K students. This provides teachers with dedicated time to administer the required beginning-of-year assessments and ensure every child has a smooth and successful start to school.
❗️Please remember:
• Your child should attend school only on the one day and time they were assigned during the week of August 3.
• Your child's teacher or school administrator should have already contacted you with your assigned attendance date and time.
• Beginning Monday, August 10, 2026, all 4K and 5K students will attend school daily following their regular schedule.
If you have any questions about your child's assigned day or time, please contact your child's school.

🚌 Back to School Bus Safety Reminder! 🚌
As we begin the new school year, we want to remind all CCSD families of the rules that govern every school bus in the Clarendon County School District. These expectations are in place to help ensure a safe, respectful, and positive ride for every student and our dedicated bus drivers.
Please take a few moments to review these bus rules with your child before the first day of school. Working together, we can create an environment where every student arrives at school safely and ready to learn.
📱 Cell Phone Reminder:
Students may use cell phones while riding the bus; however, phone calls are not permitted, and audio must remain at a low volume to avoid disrupting the driver or other students. Upon arriving on campus, all cell phones must be powered off and placed in the campus cell phone storage box until the end of the school day.
Thank you for partnering with us to make student safety our top priority. Here’s to a safe, successful, and amazing school year!
💙💛 Safe Rides. Respectful Behavior. Success Together.

What an incredible way to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! 🖤💛💙🩶
Clarendon County School District staff came together for an unforgettable Convocation, celebrating the start of a new year with excitement, inspiration, and a shared commitment to excellence!
Our Superintendent, Dr. Johnson, welcomed the CCSD family with a powerful message, reflecting on how far our district has come and reminding us that we have the best staff in the nation. Because of your dedication, passion, and commitment to our students, the future of ClarendonCSD is brighter than ever!
One of the highlights of the day was the announcement of our 2026-2027 District Teacher of the Year, Mr. Quinten Kelly, a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Manning Junior High School. Congratulations, Mr. Kelly, on this well-deserved honor! Your dedication to your students and commitment to excellence make you an outstanding representative of Clarendon County School District.
Our keynote speaker, Mr. Brandon Montgomery, challenged us to think differently, lead boldly, and stay focused on what matters most. His words, “Where your focus goes, your energy flows,” set the tone for the year ahead. He reminded us to defy the odds, set the standard, and stand up, because our students are watching. They see our attitudes, hear our words, and feel our energy every single day. We have the opportunity to inspire them simply by showing up as our very best selves.
The energy in the room was contagious, the excitement was undeniable, and we’re ready to make this our best year yet!
A heartfelt thank you to all of our program participants who helped make Convocation such a special celebration. Your talents and contributions helped make the day truly memorable.
We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to our amazing sponsors who helped make this event possible. Thank you to Lowe’s of Manning, Jones Chevrolet of Sumter, The Manning Times, Bank of Clarendon, Attorney Shaun Kent of Kent Law Firm, Burger Chick of Manning, and Santee Electric Cooperative, Inc. Your generosity and support of Clarendon County School District and our educators are truly appreciated!
Here’s to a year of growth, purpose, and excellence. Let’s make it happen, CCSD! 🍎✨🖤💛💙🩶
