Board Meeting Intro
In Clarendon County School District, we recognize that it takes a village to educate and empower our children and build a culture of learning in our schools. Our teachers and staff play an important role in ensuring that our students have a safe environment to excel and that change happens in the lives of our young adults, families, and the community. Each month, we will recognize outstanding teachers and staff members who positively impact the Clarendon County School District. Teacher Feature of the Month and Staff Feature of the Month winners are nominated by and elected by their colleagues for excellence in their classroom and positive contributions to Clarendon County School District." Congratulations to our featured teacher, Mrs. Candace Frierson, and featured staff member, Mrs. Beverly Cummings! We are so thankful for you both!

Families Reading Every Day, or “FRED,” is a program that focuses on reading together as a family. The program goal is for families to read each day for 15 minutes. FRED is a fun and educational program that helps strengthen family bonds and helps support early literacy development. Our target groups are District 4K classes and the Montessori Classes at Manning Early Childhood Center. With the help of Mrs. Gloria Johnson, CCSD FRED Project Coordinator, literacy bags will go home each Monday of the week and return to school the following Monday. Literacy bags will include two books and a poem activity. 📚

🎉Each year, we observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The day of September 15th is significant because it is the anniversary of the independence of Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. 🎊

September is Suicide Prevention Month. While every day of the year is an opportunity for awareness, this month, we emphasize education and sharing life-saving resources on all issues related to suicide (prevention, intervention, and postvention). Please help us to prevent suicide in CCSD. 🎞️: Ms. Housey and her Digital Arts Students at FEDCC
