🌱🌳 Learning Grows Outdoors at MECC! 🌳🌱
Mrs. Joyner and Mrs. Montgomery’s class enjoyed a fun and educational outdoor garden day with Mrs. Land and Mrs. Lane! The class brought out their class plant, which Mrs. Land measured at over 26 inches tall and blooming when students returned from Christmas break 🌺
Students also talked about trees, planted one with the help of MHS FFA members, and had fun counting the rings on an old tree that fell during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. It was a hands-on day full of growth, teamwork, and discovery! 🌿📏
🍕📚 Reading Goals = Pizza Party! 📚🍕
MECC sends a huge thank you to Johnson & Durant Law for sponsoring our pizza party in celebration of students meeting their November/December reading goal challenges!
Through both classroom reading goals and individual student reading goals, our young readers worked hard and showed amazing progress. We’re so proud of their dedication - and grateful for community partners who support literacy and learning in such a meaningful way.
