All students have been given a science experiment packet to experiment! We have been working on these in class. By the end of this week, they worked in class to create a title, question, procedure, list of materials, and hypotheses. Please help them to conduct their experiment and create a presentation at home. We are aiming for these projects to come in on the week of Monday, April 8th!

Science projects are coming up!! Your student will get a worksheet to complete a project if they have not already completed one. Do you need help supporting your student in completing the science project? Are you not sure how to choose a topic? Don't understand how to analyze the experiment? Do you need to know where to get the items to do the project? Join us at MES on Tuesday, March 12th, for an informative Science Project session! We will have two identical sessions, so you can choose which time works best for your schedule.

We had our Black History Month Celebration this morning. The theme was African Americans and the Arts. We had wonderful speakers including Reverend Franklin D. Colclough, 1961 Manning Training School Graduate and Brandin Scott, our guest speaker. Manning High School's Jazz band and Dance Line entertained our students and staff. It was an enriching program.

MES is excited to announce that we have received a grant from the Marathon Kids for an all-girls running club. The program will be led by 5th-grade teacher, Shemeika Hilton. We are proud to have been selected as one of only 25 schools to participate in this inaugural program. We would like to express our gratitude to Dick's Sporting Goods Foundation and The Brooks Empower Her Collection for making this initiative possible.

MES teachers spent four hours planning science instruction before intersession. We appreciate our educators!
