The First Upward Bound Academic Saturday of the year was a success! We focused on scholarships, FAFSA, and social-emotional learning. Students also had the opportunity to go ice skating. Another productive day in the books!

Congratulations to Kelvin Pearson (1st Chair Senior Band), Elijah Ragins(1st Clinic Band), Destiny Gallishaw, Zylaiah Jacobs, and Dawson Palmer for earning a seat and performing with the 2024 Eastern District Honor Band! These students represented us well and performed an excellent concert! Due to the inclement weather students were only able to rehearse for 5 hours, and then turned around and performed. Excellent job!

The South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association released its first rankings since mid-December on Tuesday. A lot of basketball has been played since then, with holiday tournaments and region openers leading to a shift in rankings.
Manning jumped back into the 3A poll at No. 9 despite losing consecutive games to Wilson Hall and Kingstree, the first of which came in the championship of the District 9 Officials Christmas Tournament.

Our Upward Bound students attended the 26th Annual Wanda Hendrick-Bellamy Student Leadership Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC! This conference allowed many TRIO students to enhance their leadership skills, engage in civic opportunities, develop professionally, and network with other TRIO students and professionals.
