Our students' academic achievements were recognized this week as the MHS staff presented 689 awards for 1st Semester at our Awards Ceremony 🏆. Keep up the great work, Monarchs! 👏🏼
Congratulations to Kelvin Pearson, Jaylen Sweat, Timothy Keels, Carter Miller, Dawson Palmer, and Patrick York for successful auditions at Burke High School for the annual Band Audition and Scholarship Fair. The Marching Monarchs have successfully secured scholarships for school tuition!
🏆Kelvin Pearson received approximately $460,792 in scholarship offerings, several being a full ride from various colleges and universities in South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, and Florida.
🏆Jaylen Sweat received approximately $160,000 in scholarship offerings from several schools in South and North Carolina and Virginia.
🏆Timothy Keels received approximately $142,000 in scholarship offerings from several schools in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.
🏆Carter Miller received approximately $50,000 in scholarship offerings from various schools in South Carolina.
So far, our Senior Marching Monarchs have accrued approximately $812,792 in band scholarships! 💰


Manning High School’s student council is hosting its second-annual Clarendon County Food Truck Festival on Monday, Feb. 19 - 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the MHS student parking lot. The money raised will help pay for a trip to the South Carolina Student Council State Convention at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.
There will be six food trucks participating: George’s Funnel Cakes, Duggie Dogs Express, Mi Promesa Authentic Mexican Food, Smokin J’s Southern Eatz, Longman Pizza & Sharon Thames-Simms Tropical Paradise.

The February Academic Saturday event for USC Upward Bound members has concluded successfully! The students were taught about the hazards of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They also participated in an activity focused on social and emotional learning, which helped them better understand their emotions and behaviors and how to manage them effectively in life.
