Everyone was so excited to come back to school after a wonderful Winter break!

We celebrated the classes who had the highest class average on the 2nd Quarter Benchmark yesterday. 🎉 Congratulations to Mrs. Holcombe's class for the highest average on the math benchmark!! 🎉 Congratulations to Mrs. Holcombe's and Mr. Reed's classes for having the highest average on the reading benchmark! We are so proud of all our students for doing their best on their assessments. We also drew names for our benchmark raffle. Congratulations to all the raffle winners! 🎉

There were gingerbread men on the loose at MPS' Literacy Night! Families received "Read to Succeed Act" information and comprehension activities/strategies to help students at home. Students received a copy of the book "The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School" by Laura Murray, built a gingerbread man trap and looked for the hidden gingerbread men in the school. Families then enjoyed a special treat of hot chocolate and gingerbread man cookies. MPS would like to thank all the students and families for attending!

It's the last day of our countdown to winter break! Today was "Ugly Sweater Day". 🎄
