Mrs. Godwin is a seasoned educational leader with 24 years of experience driving academic and operational excellence. She has served in high-impact roles including Special Education Coordinator, School Testing Coordinator and Instructional Coach. As a Leader in Me school-based trainer, Mrs. Godwin and her Lighthouse team earned Lighthouse status in Williamsburg County. A former Literacy Coach, she excels at mentoring educators and leading strategic initiatives. Her broad expertise in both general and special education underscores her commitment to inclusive, high-performing learning environments and to empowering the next generation of school and community leaders.

Big cheers for our Nutrition Team! 🎉🍎🥪

At the July CCSD Board of Trustees meeting we gave a standing ovation to our Director of Nutrition and the whole crew for an unforgettable summer of service. Last June we served 2,993 breakfasts and 4,234 lunches. This June they turned up the heat and served 24,212 breakfasts and 25,115 lunches.

Plus more than 5,000 seven day meal kits went out to families so students stayed fueled all summer long. Thank you to our Nutrition heroes for feeding minds and hearts and making summer a little brighter for our community. 👏🌞💛

Ambitious and driven, Mrs. Ashman brings 19 years of diverse experience, from teaching ELA and lecturing in Jamaica to serving as a reading interventionist and curriculum developer across districts.

She holds an M.S. in Education with a specialization in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University and plans to pursue a doctorate in Educational Practice and Innovation. A devoted educator, reader, baker, wife and mother, Mrs. Ashman is a tireless advocate for teacher empowerment, strong classroom structure and student success. We celebrate her leadership and the impact she will continue to make in our schools. 👏🏼

Clarendon CSD and Manning Early Childhood Center proudly announce the appointment of Ms. Nicole Simon, Ed.S., as Literacy Coach at Manning Early Childhood Center. A dedicated literacy leader with nearly two decades of experience in education, Ms. Simon is passionate about helping every student become a confident, successful reader.

She holds an Education Specialist Ed.S. in Reading, Literacy and Assessment from Walden University and has served in roles including classroom teacher, reading interventionist, instructional coach and reading coach. Her diverse experience equips her to support teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction that leads to measurable student success.

Ms. Simon is the founder of Get Lit with Literacy, a tutoring program that provides personalized literacy instruction to build foundational reading skills, increase confidence and foster a lifelong love of reading. She was honored as Manning Elementary School 2025 2026 Teacher of the Year in recognition of her commitment to instructional excellence, student achievement and educational leadership.

Driven by the belief that investing in teachers creates lasting opportunities for students, Ms. Simon is dedicated to building literacy rich classrooms where every child can thrive.

With more than a decade of experience in education, Mrs. Wilson brings deep expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum and instruction, special education, teacher development and school improvement.

She holds a B.A. in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Early Care and Education from Columbia College, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Education in Special Education and an Educational Specialist Ed.S. degree in Principalship. Throughout her career, Mrs. Wilson has been a strong advocate for student achievement, educator empowerment and the cultivation of a positive school culture grounded in high expectations, collaboration and strong relationships.

Mrs. Wilson looks forward to partnering with Manning High School students, families, faculty, staff and the community to build on the school’s tradition of excellence and ensure every student is prepared for success.

Middleton as the new Assistant Principal of Instruction at Scott’s Branch Middle/High School!🌟 With more than 30 years of distinguished service in education, Dr. Middleton brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership to Eagle Nation. Throughout her remarkable career, she has served as an Assistant Principal for Instruction, Director of Student Support Services, Elementary and Middle School Principal, and educational leadership consultant. Her expertise in instructional leadership, school improvement, professional learning, and data-driven decision-making has positively impacted countless students, educators, and school communities across South Carolina. This appointment marks a meaningful homecoming, as Dr. Middleton returns to the Summerton community where she began her teaching career. It is a full-circle moment that reflects her lifelong commitment to serving students and strengthening the community that helped launch her journey in education. Dr. Middleton is passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, academic excellence, and continuous improvement.
