Parents/Guardians and Community Members, Please be advised that on Wednesday, July 10th, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, we will be conducting an active school bus rollover drill. This exercise will include participation from Clarendon County Emergency Management Staff (EMS, police), the Clarendon School District Transportation Team, and the SCDE Driver’s Trainer. The location for this drill will be at the Clarendon County Emergency Management Facility, located at 217 Commerce St. This drill is a critical component of our commitment to safety and emergency preparedness within the district and community.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ms. Barbara King, a beloved and devout educator who dedicated her life to the students of Clarendon County Schools. Ms. King was an exceptional educator whose passion for teaching and unwavering commitment to our community left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Throughout her esteemed career, Ms. King was not only a remarkable teacher but also a mentor and friend to her colleagues and students. Her dedication to education did not end with her retirement; instead, she continued to share her knowledge and passion by volunteering in our schools, embodying the spirit of lifelong learning. Ms. King’s legacy was further enriched by the contributions of her daughter, the late Ty King, who followed in her mother's footsteps and made significant impacts within our school community. Barbara’s presence was a constant source of inspiration, and her involvement with our gardening class at MECC showcased her enduring commitment to nurturing and educating our children. Barbara King was a pillar in our schools and the broader community. Her kindness, wisdom, and dedication have profoundly impacted the lives of countless students, families, and educators. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the King family and all who were touched by Barbara’s extraordinary life. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
