🗣️Today is Work Occupational Therapy Day, and we would like to thank our OTs in CCSD, Beth Cottone, Gillie McArthur, and Tiffany Neely. Thank you for all that you do to ensure our students can enjoy activities at school and throughout life.
Occupational therapists focus on the things you want and need to do in your daily life. Occupational therapy intervention uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote health, well-being, and your ability to participate in the important activities in your life.

Our Students and staff dressed in Western gear to "saddle up and give drugs the boot."
HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) from the F.E. Dubose Career Center visited 1st and 2nd grade students for a workshop to help them understand the importance of hand hygiene and high touch surfaces in relation to illness and how they spread. This project was created by Arden E. Brown, Manning High Student.
At MECC, Mrs. Land and her team taught each class about pumpkins in the garden. They tasted pumpkin seeds and sweet potato chips, then planted spinach seeds. The kids each got a sweet potato that they dug up to take home!
First Steps Parents as Teachers Monthly Group Connection - Fall Festivities
Topic: Interacting with your child and the importance of early literacy. Parents and children had the opportunity to engage in fun filled and educational activities. The host of the group connection was Monya Terry from Absolute Total Care.

Some of the Montessori Monarchs classes went to visit Dorr Farms! They played, picked pumpkins, toured the farm on a hayride, and saw some farm animals. What an adventurous day!
Mrs. Marie Land, Mrs. Amy Land, and Katie came to the garden to teach the students about seeds. They studied the soil samples that were put in water last week. Next, they planted seeds in different soil types to see which they like to grow best. (clay, sand, & soil). Another fun day in the garden! 🪴
