After reading Richard Connell’s short story, *“The Most Dangerous Game,”* Mrs. Brianna Coker’s English 1 class took their learning from the pages to real life! 📚🗺️✍🏻 Students mapped out the story’s setting and created a visual path showing the journey the protagonist took throughout the story. Their maps were complete with images, colors, and meaningful quotes from the text! We love seeing students bring literature to life through creativity and hands-on learning! ❤️📖

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you that earlier today, a weapon was discovered on campus. The weapon was found inside a locked vehicle in the school parking lot and did not enter the school building at any point.
There is no evidence indicating that this posed a threat to students or staff. School administration and law enforcement responded immediately following a tip and followed proper safety protocols to address the situation and ensure the continued safety of everyone on campus.
We understand that any mention of a weapon on school grounds can be concerning, and we want to assure you that our top priority remains the safety and well-being of every student. We are grateful for the swift coordination between our staff and the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department in handling this matter appropriately.
We continue to encourage all students, community members, parents, and staff to alert school officials and law enforcement of any information that may present a safety concern. Concerns can be reported on the STOPit App or at appweb.stopitsolutions.com.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Sincerely, Laura Fleming, Principal

Safety First: Clear Bag Policy Reminder As we begin a new school year and another exciting sports season, Clarendon County School District wants to remind all students, parents, guardians, and visitors about our Clear Bag Policy. Safety remains our top priority. To help maintain a safe and secure environment at all district events, all guests will enter through a metal detector. Please be prepared for possible delays at entry points as security screenings are completed. Before attending your next athletic event or school activity, please take a moment to review the image outlining approved and prohibited bags. Visitors arriving with bags or items that do not meet district guidelines will be asked to return those items to their vehicles before entering. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to keep our schools and events safe and secure. #ClarendonCSD #SafetyFirst #ClearBagPolicy #UnifiedAsOne

🧪🔬 **Science in Action!** Mrs. Michele Kelly’s science class was busy in the lab **building disaccharides** to better understand the process of **dehydration synthesis**! Students explored how **glucose acts as a monomer (building block) of carbohydrates**. When two monosaccharides join together, they form a disaccharide and **a water molecule is released** in the process. 💧➡️🔬 Hands-on learning makes science come to life! 🧬🧪

📚 ATTENDANCE MATTERS IN CCSD! ⏰ Every day counts, and every minute of instruction matters! Getting students to school every day and on time is essential to academic success. When students arrive late, they lose valuable seat time, instructional time, and opportunities to learn and engage with their teachers and classmates. Don’t Be Tardy! Be present. Be on time. Be ready to learn. Parents and guardians, we need your partnership in establishing strong attendance habits. Together, we can ensure our students receive every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. 🖤💛💙🩶 CCSD: Every Student. Every Day. Every Minute Matters.
