Our middle school counselor, Mrs. Elizabeth Briley, loves serving our school family.  She strongly believes in the power of love and laughter as evidenced by her “Mom Jokes” each Funny Friday morning!  Here’s one for you… Why does an elephant use its’ trunk as a bookmark?  So it *NOSE* where it stopped reading.  😂 As Mrs. Elizabeth always says, “Let’s make it a super day, Wolverines!  We love you!”

The Book Fair is this week! Students, come check out the wide selection of books and other items to spark imagination and foster the joy of reading.

The OPT Crew has been hired by Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to keep their family life center spic and span. The students are learning valuable job and life skills. 🧹🧺🚌

What a blessing it is to have fabulous community support. Thank you to the Turbeville Ruitan Club for supporting our teachers and providing back to school supply bags for each teacher. We are so appreciative!

Reminder: Today is an early dismissal day! We will dismiss at 11:20 AM. No students are allowed to stay on campus unless they have practice or staying after school with a teacher.

Mrs. Lachelle's students are doing a gallery walk using advertisements to identify which type of persusaion, ethos, pathos or logos, the author used. 📖📚

Mrs. Cindy’s Gifted and Talented students practiced working as a team and learned the value of effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills to reach a common goal. 👏🏼

Mrs. Kim Black’s students complete a scavenger hunt by matching the piecewise function rules to the corresponding piecewise graph during Algebra 2 Honors.

East Clarendon Middle and High School’s Junior and Senior Beta Clubs have both been awarded School of Distinction Honors. In order to be a School of Distinction, a school must demonstrate the commitment to academic achievement by an increase in student membership. In addition to being a School of Distinction, ECMS’s Junior Beta Club is also a School of Merit. This award is given to schools that have members represented from each grade level present at the school level. We are extremely proud of all of our members and sponsors.

Congratulations to the EC Varsity Softball Team for being named by The Item as the Bobbys Award winner for Best Area Team!

Today Preston Thorne and Langston Moore, authors and former Gamecock football players, visited with our middle school students. These engaging speakers came to get our students fired up about literacy! During the presentation, they interacted with students as they spoke about literacy, football, and success.

Mrs. Haley's second and fifth period classes working on reading comprehension, finding answers in the text, and vocabulary.

Yesterday, our fall sports team captains had the opportunity to improve their leadership knowledge and skills by participating in the SC High School Athletic League's Captains Course. ECMHS is thankful that students have leadership opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom.
