All 6th and 7th grade students across the district are now official GEAR UP Scholars! 🎓💡 This exciting initiative will provide mentoring and academic support to help them succeed in the classroom and beyond. 🚀📚
A huge thank you to Summerton City Council Member Jazz Bowman for being our guest speaker and inspiring our students! 🎤👏 Also, many thanks to Dr. Tyneshia Eaddy, Director of Secondary Education, for leading the charge in making this opportunity a reality for our students. ❤️✨

This week in the library, Mrs. Lachelle Spring’s and Mrs. Brandi Baker’s classes wrote autobiographical and biographical poems. This was the first step to a small biography research project that they will complete on their next visit. Students learned some new vocabulary and created poems about themselves. They also wrote about bio poems about their teachers based only on what they know about them. They rule was they couldn’t ask any questions! Mrs. Lachelle and Mrs. Brandi enjoyed reading the sweet poems their students wrote about them.
Our OPT bunnies are still selling eggs!! Don't forget to order your eggs soon. We may even have a special appearance on your camera when the eggs are delivered 🐰🐰
JR - SR Prom Tickets are on sale now during lunch. Tickets will be available to be purchased at the door.
ATTENTION all parents: if you would like to see the prom decorations you must come before prom starts and be out of the lobby by 7:30 PM. After 7:30 PM no parents will be allowed to enter the lobby. There will be a red carpet experience for parents to take picture of their babies as they enter the prom.
Congratulations to senior Gretchen Bautista-Sanchez on her Second Place win in the South Carolina Association of School Librarians Book Award Bookmark Contest! Gretchen designed a bookmark to represent the book Abuela, Don’t Forget Me by Rex Ogle, which was on the SC Young Adult Book Award Nominee list this year. Students from all around the state are invited to compete in the Book Award contest every year. We are so proud of Gretchen!
