Recently, our MECC students took their love for reading outside and brought their favorite storybook characters to life during our Book Parade! The smiles, laughter, and creativity made it such a fun and memorable day for everyone.

Buzzing with Learning at the MECC Outdoor Garden! 🐝
Our Outdoor Garden had a special visitor - Master Beekeeper Kenneth Phelps! Our students had a wonderful time learning about the different types of bees and the important role they play in our environment. They also enjoyed delicious treats and a fun, engaging bee story right in the garden space.
A special thank you to our gardening friends and Mr. Phelps for providing an amazing hands-on learning experience for our students! 🐝🌼

🐛🌱 Learning in the Garden at MECC! 🌱🐛
Our students had an exciting hands-on learning experience in the garden today! They explored the world of worms by observing, touching, and even measuring them. With the help of magnifying glasses, students were able to take a closer look and discover details they might not have noticed before.
Mrs. Land also shared a book about worms, helping students learn more about these important garden helpers and their role in nature. It was a fun and engaging way to bring science to life!
🎨✨ Creativity is in full swing in Mrs. Moye’s art class at MECC! ✨🎨
From exploring overlapping and adding details with chalk in K5, to designing colorful Fabergé eggs while learning proportion in 1st grade, and creating Wayne Thiebaud-inspired cupcakes in 2nd grade, our students are building skills in creativity, detail, and perseverance. Students even worked without pencils or erasers, learning to push through and embrace mistakes along the way.

Our MECC students had a great day of hands-on learning! 🌱
Students had the opportunity to meet Mr. Darren Dawkins, a Manning High School and Clemson graduate who is currently studying at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine to become a veterinarian. Mr. Dawkins worked with the students to show them how to make seed bombs using flower seeds collected from last year’s garden.
While some students were making seed bombs, others spent time with Mrs. Land checking on their potatoes and other growing crops and predicting how much rain might fall today using the rain gauge. 🌧️
