MES celebrated Black History Month with a powerful and meaningful program honoring the heroes of black history, past and present.
We were truly honored to welcome former SC State Senator Kevin Johnson as our special guest. His words of wisdom, encouragement, and real-life experiences left a lasting impression on our students. He reminded us all that leadership, courage, and perseverance matter, and that each of our scholars has the potential to make a difference.
Thank you, Senator Johnson, for spending time with our MES family and for pouring into our students in such an authentic way.
We are also incredibly proud of our students and staff who worked so hard behind the scenes and on stage to make this program so special. Your hard work, talent, and teamwork made the day one to remember.
Moments like these remind us that history is not just something we learn about, it’s something we live and continue to create together.

Our Manning area schools were all smiles this morning thanks to SAFE Federal Credit Union, who sponsored Rise & Refresh and treated our staff to coffee from Roast N’ Roll Coffee!
Small gestures like this go a long way, and our teachers and staff truly felt the love. We are thankful for community partners who show up for our schools and support the people who pour so much into our students every single day. 😊👏

This week during Ms. C. Britt's Stem Lab students are learning about Invertebrates and vertebrates!
Students had the opportunity to rotate tables and view animals. As students rotated from table to table, they listed each animal and labeled it as invertebrates or vertebrates. Students learned that 98% of animals are invertebrates (without a backbone) while vertebrates(with a backbone) makes up the other 2% of animals. Students learned that vertebrates includes mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. And invertebrates includes mollusks, arthropods, worms, cnidarians, insects, and echinoderms.
