This week during Ms. C. Britt's Stem Lab students are learning about Invertebrates and vertebrates! Students had the opportunity to rotate tables and view animals. As students rotated from table to table, they listed each animal and labeled it as invertebrates or vertebrates. Students learned that 98% of animals are invertebrates (without a backbone) while vertebrates(with a backbone) makes up the other 2% of animals. Students learned that vertebrates includes mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. And invertebrates includes mollusks, arthropods, worms, cnidarians, insects, and echinoderms.

Happy Sunday, Parents: 🏀 We hope you and your families had a wonderful winter break! As 🏀 basketball season continues, we are excited to kick off the first quarter of our final game of the 2025–2026 Season which starts @ 7:40AM on Tuesday, January 6th. As always, we want to be fair and supportive of all our players. This is an important and competitive time and a lot is at stake. We want our players to stay focused, remain confident, and be consistent in their efforts as we move forward. We understand that parents are their child’s biggest fans and we truly value your support. While sideline coaching by parents is generally discouraged, we value parent input and encourage families to support our efforts in developing and guiding our players toward success. We value parent feedback and see parents as important partners in supporting and motivating our players toward VICTORY!. We ask that you continue to encourage our players to listen to their coaches, respect game officials, and demonstrate good sportsmanship to their peers at all times. Our goal is not only strong academic performance, but also the development of good character. Please help reinforce important traits such as respect, self-control, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance. These qualities help players avoid unnecessary fouls or technical violations and contribute to a positive experience for everyone. Thank you for your continued partnership in shaping our players to be the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER and the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!! Let’s finish the season MES STRONG! Best regards,
MES Coaching Staff 🏀

Savor the Flavor Stem Experiment: The title of the experiment was Savor the Flavor! The students had the opportunity to slowly enjoy and appreciate the full taste of sweet, fruity, flavorful gum. They also learned to incorporate the scientific method to carry out an experiment. Students worked in groups to form a testable question, researched what they know about gum flavors, created a hypothesis, recorded their data, and observations, analyzed their results, and conclusions.

The terminal was filled with fun and excitement on Friday as Flight MES 311 safely landed at WE MADE IT TO WINTER BREAK! We thought we may have needed security when a Grinch appeared in the terminal, but the passengers and parents loved him so we let him hang around for a while. 🎉 Passengers were dismissed safely... 1, 2, 3, Releaseeeee… 🎈 🎈 🎈 Fortunately, all flights will be grounded for the next two weeks so pilots, copilots, flight attendants, custodial, and maintenance workers can rest and relax. What better way to bring the calendar year to a close than by celebrating together at our employee Christmas gathering? During the festivities, faculty and staff enjoyed Christmas Bingo and then teamed up to tackle a trivia challenge: How many total gifts are given in The 12 Days of Christmas? Things took an unexpected (and hilarious) turn when most of the faculty and staff decided to prank administrators by staging a walkout. Who does that? 👀 None other than the best Faculty and Staff this side of the I-95. Ms. Ring Leader, along with her accomplice, were quickly identified as the culprits. 4th Grade shared a strategy, but 3rd grade was the first to solve the trivia. From our hearts, halls, and homes to yours Happy Holidays and we will see you in the New Year! ✨MES OUT!!!

Good Evening Parents, As we prepare for our final descent into WE MADE IT TO WINTER BREAK, we have just 1.5 days left in our flight. This is your friendly co-pilot and favorite Assistant Principal with a few important reminders. ✈️ We are scheduled to arrive on time on Friday, December 19th at 11:10 AM, so please make arrangements to be available to receive your passengers promptly. Unfortunately, due to unexpected turbulence including anticipated gusty winds and rain, the Drive Thru Light Show scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 18th, has been cancelled. Save the Children afterschool students will dismiss at 5:00 PM tomorrow. Cookie Dough has been delivered and will need to be picked up by Friday December 19th. Feel free to move about the cabin as long as the seatbelt sign is not on. Parents please continue to remind students of school expectations as we complete our final descent into WE MADE IT TO WINTER BREAK. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a smooth landing into Winter Break!
