Intersession is a time for students and staff to relax and reset. We encourage our students to continue reading over the break and participate in brain break exercises, including stretches 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏽, physical activity 🚴🏼♀️, and journaling📔. Intersession begins on Wednesday, 10/4. Students return on Monday, 10/9.

The admin team spoke about the importance of the School Improvement Council (SIC). The team will hold SIC meetings monthly 🗓. Families Reading Every Day, or “FRED,” is a program that focuses on reading together as a family. The program goal is for families to read each day for 15 minutes. FRED is a fun and educational program that helps strengthen family bonds and helps support early literacy development. Our target groups are District 4K classes and the Montessori Classes at Manning Early Childhood Center.
With the help of Mrs. Gloria Johnson, CCSD FRED Project Coordinator, literacy bags will go home each Monday of the week and return to school the following Monday. Literacy bags will include two books and a poem activity. 📚

Our Pre-K students assisted Mrs. James in their very first Science project. The students saw how the gas, having nowhere else to go, expands the balloon making the self-inflating balloon happen.

Our BETA Club students are presenting their very first Service Learning Project for the year. Help us to reach our goal of collecting 300 non-perishable items.
September is Suicide Prevention Month. While every day of the year is an opportunity for awareness, this month, we emphasize education and sharing life-saving resources on all issues related to suicide (prevention, intervention, and postvention). Please help us to prevent suicide in CCSD.
