🔬🧫 Learning About Cells — With a Side of Fun!🧫🔬
Mrs. Hannah Wilder’s 6th grade Science students wrapped up their cell unit with an exciting cell project! Students got to choose how they wanted to demonstrate their learning by creating a poster, book, 3-D model, or edible cell. Each project had to include labeled organelles and show an understanding of how each organelle plays an important role in the function of the cell as a whole. 🧠🔬
Students also watched videos of REAL eukaryotic, unicellular organisms—our three protist friends: the amoeba, Euglena, and paramecium—as they observed how these tiny organisms move and eat. And, of course, what better way to wrap up an edible cell project than by sharing pieces of their tasty creations!😋🧁

This week in the library, high school students connected with tutors on Tutor.com, which they can access for free on SC Discus. Students chatted with live tutors and got help with various subjects, including math and Spanish.
🔬 Cells: Plant vs. Animal!🌱🐾
Mr. Jody’s class is wrapping up their units on cells, and what better way to finish than by comparing plant and animal cells!
Students are discovering that while plant and animal cells have quite a few things in common, they also have some important differences. From their structures to their functions, there’s plenty to explore when putting these two types of cells side by side! 🧫🧬
