LAST CALL for physicals!! This Wednesday, 4/29, from 4:30-6:30 is the last chance to get a physical done at the school. Cost is $10 per athlete. **Please note the time change** Per SCHSL, athletes must have a physical dated after April 1st, 2026 in order to participate in any sport during the 2026-27 school year, including summer practices/workouts. Please make sure to have your physical packet completely filled out and signed by a parent/guardian before arriving(sign the front and back of each page).  Approved physical packets can be picked up from the front office or the weightroom. Ms. Deon Jones' English II students were engaged in an activity where they were tasked with arranging sentence strips in sequential order and label their function in the body paragraph. They practiced using the thesis statement of the introduction as a clue to determine what the topic sentence of the body paragraph should be, then determine which sentences serve as the evidence from the text, supporting details and explanation of the evidence. They used the representation of the items of a hamburger to represent the key components of a well-developed paragraph. This should help them to remember how to organize their paragraphs when writing.

Math 180 students playing a square root circle matching game to prepare for SC Ready in a few weeks. Students had a square root question in one hand and an answer in another and had to find their match.

Yearbooks are HERE! Our staff got their first peeks, and we are SO excited for you all to get them on Distribution Day May 4th! We will be handing out yearbooks during lunch, and we will have a signing party during WEB time! If you've not bought one, it's not too late! Attention Baseball Campers!

Mrs. Sheri”s 6th and 8th grade classes celebrated Earth Day 2026 by creating art with chalk on the sidewalk. They also celebrated with food like dirt cake and Earth cupcakes.

Mrs. Sheri’s science class took learning outdoors today and celebrated Earth Day with some creative sidewalk chalk drawings 🌎✨ Happy Earth Day! 💚

Please see the attached schedule for the Spring End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) for East Clarendon High School. Please ensure that students enrolled in English 2, U.S. History, Biology 1, and Algebra I are present on testing days and on time.

Congratulations to Mrs. Carly Coleman for being selected by the South Carolina Department of Education to serve on the South Carolina Social Studies Standards Revision Team!

Carly was 1 of only 30 teachers selected from more than 300 applicants to serve on this important team. She will share her expertise in Social Studies as she works alongside educators, administrators, and leaders from the South Carolina Department of Education to revise the state standards.

We are so proud of Carly’s leadership, commitment, and willingness to serve in ways that will benefit students across our state. This is a tremendous honor, and we are excited to see her represent East Clarendon Middle High School and Clarendon County School District in this important work!

🚨 Big News for Career and Technical Education (CTE) at East Clarendon Middle High School! 🚨 We are proud to share that our CTE Business Instructor, Mrs. Jennifer Hunt, has been selected to participate in the YEScarolina Entrepreneurship Program for the 2026–2027 school year! 🎉 Thanks to new funding from Chick-fil-A, this opportunity will allow our students to develop real-world business and entrepreneurial skills right in the classroom. 💼📊 YEScarolina supports students in grades 6–12 through engaging lessons, teacher certification, and business plan competitions. Our EC OPT Unified Wolverines competed at Riverbluff High in the “Nothing But Net” Championship! 🏀 With 18 athletes and 12 partners, they brought home 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Highlights: Caleb Coleman dropped 18 in the final, Leevy Shaw hit a game-winning buzzer beater, Khamini Makell locked down defense, and DyVeon Singletary added 12 points across two games. Proud of this team!

Mrs. Sims and her science class have been hard at work this week transforming our middle school courtyard! 🌱🌼 Students kicked things off by starting the flower beds and garden spaces, planting a variety of seeds and young plants. Along the way, they also got hands-on experience using different gardening tools, learning valuable skills while connecting with nature. We can’t wait to watch everything grow—great job, everyone! 🌿✨
