🌟 August Character Trait: RESPONSIBILITY 🌟 We’re kicking off the school year by putting Responsibility into action! 💙💛 Each month, our students take time to reflect on a character trait and think about what it looks like in their everyday lives. For August, our focus is Responsibility, making good choices, following through on commitments, taking ownership of our actions, and doing our part. 🙌 Our students put their thoughts into action by creating Post-It notes sharing what responsibility means to them. 📝✨ It’s a simple activity, but it’s a great reminder that small choices can make a big difference! We’re proud to see our students building positive character one trait at a time! 🖤💛💙🩶 #CharacterEdCounts #Responsibility #StudentSuccess #ClarendonCSD #UnifiedAsOne

A Little Learning, A Little Fun at F.E. DuBose Career Center! 💙💛

It was quite the coincidence! Dr. Krystal Barclay, Chiropractor and a friend of FEDCC, was traveling to work on short notice and was asked to stop by to peek her head in and say hello before jumping into her scrubs! 🩺👩‍⚕️

While she was here, she took a few moments to speak with our students about her journey, internships, professionalism, and career opportunities. Our students were excited to hear her story and learn more about what it takes to become a doctor!

We also had a little fun while reinforcing an important reminder: the dress code! 👕👀

Since the beginning of the school year, our director, Ms. Johnson, and teachers have been talking with students about dress code expectations. During orientation, our teachers, and Ms. Johnson, demonstrated some of the outfits that have been seen since the beginning of the school year, outfits that would result in a dress code violation if worn to school. 👀

Two great lessons, one great day: learn from those who inspire you and know the dress code! 📚✨

Thank you, Dr. Barclay, for always taking a moment to encourage our students. We’re always happy to see you at F.E. DuBose! 🖤💛💙🩶

📚 ATTENDANCE MATTERS IN CCSD! ⏰ Every day counts, and every minute of instruction matters! Getting students to school every day and on time is essential to academic success. When students arrive late, they lose valuable seat time, instructional time, and opportunities to learn and engage with their teachers and classmates. Don’t Be Tardy! Be present. Be on time. Be ready to learn. Parents and guardians, we need your partnership in establishing strong attendance habits. Together, we can ensure our students receive every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. 🖤💛💙🩶 CCSD: Every Student. Every Day. Every Minute Matters.

To help teachers & staff recharge during the first week of school, our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year Mrs. Wallace surprised staff with a fun “Pop Out for a Pop!” treat. 🚌 Back to School Bus Safety Reminder! 🚌 As we begin the new school year, we want to remind all CCSD families of the rules that govern every school bus in the Clarendon County School District. These expectations are in place to help ensure a safe, respectful, and positive ride for every student and our dedicated bus drivers. Please take a few moments to review these bus rules with your child before the first day of school. Working together, we can create an environment where every student arrives at school safely and ready to learn. 📱 Cell Phone Reminder: Students may use cell phones while riding the bus; however, phone calls are not permitted, and audio must remain at a low volume to avoid disrupting the driver or other students. Upon arriving on campus, all cell phones must be powered off and placed in the campus cell phone storage box until the end of the school day. Thank you for partnering with us to make student safety our top priority. Here’s to a safe, successful, and amazing school year! 💙💛 Safe Rides. Respectful Behavior. 📚 Attendance Matters… Every Scholar, Every Day! 🍎 At Clarendon County School District, we know that showing up is the first step toward success. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity for our scholars to learn, grow, and achieve. Parents and guardians, please take a moment to review our 2026-2027 Attendance Guidelines to better understand excused and unexcused absences, attendance requirements, parent note limits, and how attendance impacts student success. ✅ Remember: 🍎 Students are required to attend at least 170 of the 180 school days. 📝 Parent notes must be submitted within 3 days of a student’s return to school. 📅 Family vacations and appointments should be scheduled during school breaks whenever possible. 🎓 Good attendance leads to stronger academic performance, meaningful relationships, and greater opportunities for success. Together, let’s make attendance a priority and ensure Every Scholar. Every Day. #AttendanceMatters #EveryScholarEveryDay #UnifiedAsOne #CCSDExcellence #ClarendonCSD #AttendTodayAchieveTomorrow
