👑MECC's Prince and Princess Ball was Saturday afternoon. What a fun dance & dinner for our students, their chaperones, and our school staff. 👑 Special thanks to the team Kimberly Hilton-Lawson, Kaykay Brock and Lauren, Anjiy Hilton and Jayden on the set up and serving, Shevonne Mels B-Mc and Kevin McCrimmon for the beautiful decorations and hyping the crowd, Waring Dee Dingle for his DJing skils, Kimberly L Quzack on the photography. Marsha Dozier-Evans for the linens and MECC cafeteria for cooking the food! A wonderful time was had by all!

During Garden class, our Montessori students learned about protecting the environment from pollution. Earth Day was discussed and they did an experiment. Ask your child about it! They observed the class garden/flower bed which is really growing.

During Mrs. Nexson's lesson on shapes, she took her students on a "Shape hunt" at the gym's building process. The students used their knowledge of 2-D shapes and find 3-D shapes to identify them while viewing the new construction and in our garden. This adventure reinforced our standard and allowed students to relate the concepts to the "real world" projects.

Ms. Sanchez asked teams at her STEM class to create a ship out of aluminum foil and make sure it will float (or sink). The class would look at each ship and choose what they thought would happen. Then each team got to speak about how they designed their boat after it was tested. Ms. Sanchez explained that they needed to be "inspected" for safety.
