
Ms. Sanchez asked teams at her STEM class to create a ship out of aluminum foil and make sure it will float (or sink). The class would look at each ship and choose what they thought would happen. Then each team got to speak about how they designed their boat after it was tested. Ms. Sanchez explained that they needed to be "inspected" for safety.

Ms. Sanchez and her Save The Children after school group shared Black History stories.

🍀Mrs. Marie Land and her Gardening team celebrated St. Patrick's Day 🍀 with the classes, making wishes and learning the history of this holiday. They also "planted" their seed bombs and looked for leprechauns. 🏆 Mrs. Joyner's class won for collecting the most compost of any class, and Mrs. Land gave them extra prizes.

🪴Garden time:👩🏼🌾 We learned about bulb plants, had a fantastic read aloud, and planted onions and potatoes with the eye to the sky.











We celebrated Dr. Seuss who wrote and illustrated 47 books in his lifetime. Those books were translated into twenty languages. Today was hat day and Dr. Seuss surprised the students and came to read "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back." 📚

Our 1st grade students' Black History Program shared Joy, Peace & Love. They shared many inventions by African American men and women, including the refrigerator, lawn mower, light bulbs and many other products we use daily.
