Subject: Implementation of Metal Detectors at School Entrances
Dear Parent and Guardians / Faculty and Staff,
I want to remind you about a new safety measure we are implementing to enhance security on our campus. Starting Wednesday, October 23rd, metal detectors will be installed at all school entrances. Each morning, every student will be required to pass through a metal detector upon arrival. To ensure the process runs smoothly, we ask for your support in reminding students to carry certain items separately (not in their backpacks) when entering the building. These items include:
Laptops and tablets, 3-ring binders,Umbrellas, Gaming devices, Eyeglass cases, Metal water bottles, Cosmetology supplies
Students will place these items on designated tables before going through the detectors and retrieve them afterward. We understand this is a new adjustment and appreciate your cooperation in helping us make this process efficient. Our goal is to maintain a safe and focused learning environment for everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support.
Best regards,
Dr. Cummings

🌟 Month of Attendance Activities! 🌟
Last month, Mrs. Dawn Johnson, SB Attendance Clerk, and Marjetta Butler, our District Social Worker, teamed up to engage students with activities and contests focused on the importance of attendance.
For the Social Work Department, students participated in an essay contest writing about how attendance impacts their education. Congratulations to our 4 winners (1st-3rd place & 1 grand prize winner) who each received a certificate, goody bag, and gift certificates! 🏆✍️
In the Attendance Department, students with perfect attendance each week were entered into a raffle to win gift cards and canteen vouchers. A special shoutout to our grand prize winner who achieved perfect attendance for the entire month! 🎉🎁
