📢 Important Information Regarding CCSD District eLearning 📢 As an eLearning district for over five years, Clarendon County School District (CCSD) provides the technology and platforms needed for students to continue their education outside the classroom. This helps reduce the need for excessive make-up days. However, it’s essential for all parents and guardians to understand their role in supporting their child’s education. 🏫💻 We encourage seeking clarity from official sources rather than relying on social media, which can lead to misunderstandings. While we love using social media to celebrate our students’ achievements 🎉, we won’t tolerate negativity. We appreciate your passion for our students’ education! We have seen all emails sent to the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) along with their response and noted that the responses received all align with our district's decisions. 📧✅ To clarify any misconceptions: According to Section 59-1-425 Clause B, all missed school days due to snow, extreme weather, or closures must be made up. Each district must have at least three designated make-up days. If those are used, the local school board may: - Extend the school day by 1 hour ⏰ - Hold Saturday classes 🗓️ - Waive up to 3 missed days It’s important to use designated make-up days before considering waivers. The use of eLearning days helps ensure continuous instruction, which is our priority. Let there be no misunderstanding: This is a state-mandated policy!
