DuBose Career Center are excited to welcome Mrs. Gwen China Croskey as our new Introduction to Teaching and Business Instructor! Mrs. Croskey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with more than 15 years in higher education and Career and Technical Education (CTE). Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong success through engaging, real-world learning experiences. A proud graduate of Sumter High School, Mrs. Croskey earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Morris College and dual Master of Arts degrees in Information Technology Management and Human Resources Management from Webster University. She has also completed additional graduate studies in education and leadership, further strengthening her expertise in developing future leaders. Her impressive career includes serving as an Adjunct Business Instructor and Director of Student Support Services at Morris College, a full-time Business Instructor at Central Carolina Technical College, and Regional Career Specialist for the Santee-Lynches Region. In these roles, she provided leadership in career readiness, work-based learning, professional development, and student success initiatives across multiple school districts. At F.E. DuBose Career Center, Mrs. Croskey will play an integral role in preparing the next generation of educators, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. Her passion for business education, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and leadership development will inspire students to dream big and pursue meaningful careers. 🔥🛠️ What a great student teacher moment at FEDCC! 🛠️🔥 Our Level 3 Welding students are completing their pathway by earning American Welding Society (AWS) and NCCER certifications while showcasing the skills they have mastered throughout the program. Their final project, The Hot Box, was built completely from scratch and demonstrates the craftsmanship, precision, and dedication they have developed in the welding lab. 🔥 Now fully painted and ready to cook up a meal, this custom grill is proof that hands on learning produces real results. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we were honored to welcome our district social workers and representatives from Clarendon Mental Health to speak with students and staff about the importance of mental wellness. 💚

During their visit, they shared valuable information and practical tips on managing stress, building healthy coping skills, recognizing the importance of self-care, and knowing when and how to seek support. These conversations help remind our students that mental health matters just as much as physical health.

Thank you to our social workers and county mental health representatives for taking the time to educate, encourage, and support our students and school community. 🧠✨

We proudly salute our local law enforcement agencies as our F.E. DuBose Career Center Law Enforcement Program hosted its Annual Law Enforcement Luncheon in recognition of National Police Week. 💙🚔 The event was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with the dedicated men and women who serve and protect our communities each day. We are grateful for the continued support, mentorship, and partnership our law enforcement agencies provide as they help inspire and shape the next generation of public safety professionals. As we celebrated this special occasion, we also took time to honor and remember the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. DuBose Career Center has met the national pass rate with 80% of our Health Science Clinical Studies students successfully passing the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam! 🦺👏 Mr. Jamey Gowdy and his Safety Team from Georgia Pacific presented a safety program, including a demonstration on proper hard hat assembly.

During their visit to F.E. DuBose Career Center, students gained valuable insight into workplace safety practices and the importance of proper protective equipment. In addition, Georgia Pacific generously donated 20 new, updated hard hats to support hands-on learning and career preparation in our programs.
